  • Omega Gamma Chapter 2024 Constance Hall Scholarship Recipients

Please join our board in congratulating these inspiring nurses who took the step forward to submit their applications for the 2024 Constance Hall Scholarship initiative!  We would like to introduce our four Omega Gamma winners to our chapter membership:

    Dr. Jeannine Haberman

I have over thirty years of experience in nursing, where I have led, lectured, and conducted research. I earned my Doctorate of Nursing at Capella University in 2019 and both my Master’s in Nursing and MBA from Lewis University in 2009. My work focuses on advancing nursing equity, advocating for inclusive policy change, and supporting the stability of current and future nursing workforces. I am an active member and board member of several organizations, including the International Sigma Theta Tau-Omega Gamma Chapter and the Illinois Association of Colleges of Nursing. As a recipient of the Constance Hall Scholarship, I am honored to attend the STTI Conference Convention in Indianapolis in November 2025. The scholarship will help offset my trip expenses and provide me with a unique opportunity to share my research and expand my global nursing network. This award reflects the importance of Sigma Theta Tau and the work of the Omega Gamma Chapter in advancing the nursing profession.

    Crystal Henry

My name is Crystal Henry, and I am a private-duty nurse in New York, providing in-home care for patients. With a passion for helping the sick, elderly, and disabled, I draw inspiration from my grandmother, a former ER nurse. I am committed to delivering high-quality care and ensuring the safety and well-being of my patients. I aspire to advance in community nursing, moving into management to better serve my patients’ needs. My experience as a private duty nurse has given me unique insights into the psychosocial challenges of this population, and I am dedicated to advocating for evidence-based policies that benefit them. I am grateful to Sigma Theta Tau and the Omega Gamma Chapter for the scholarship that will support my goal of completing my MSN from Capella University. I aim to open a companion care agency, providing both companion and skilled care, while improving patient independence and quality of life.

    Christy James

As the spouse of a veteran and a mother of three, I have overcome numerous challenges that have strengthened my resilience and determination. I recently earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Capella University and am currently pursuing a post-master's Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certificate at Arkansas State University. Alongside my studies, I work full-time as a float nurse at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr. VA Medical Center. These experiences have deepened my commitment to making a positive impact in healthcare. The Constance Hall Scholarship from Sigma Theta Tau International will support my educational journey by covering essential expenses like tuition, textbooks, and clinical supplies. This award not only alleviates financial stress but also recognizes my dedication to nursing excellence. It motivates me to continue striving for academic success and to contribute meaningfully to patient care and the healthcare field.

    Edlynn Villalon

My name is Edlynn Villalon, and I have been a Registered Nurse since 2016. I was born in Manila, Philippines, but raised in Southern California from the age of 7. I completed my Associate’s in Nursing at Pasadena City College, my BSN at Capella University, and am currently working toward my MSN at Capella University. My nursing experience spans Psychiatry, Public Health, Home Health, and Case Management. I am grateful to be a part of Sigma Theta Tau, which offers valuable opportunities such as networking with fellow nurses worldwide and access to scholarships. This award is especially meaningful to me as it will help fund my continuing education at Capella University. I look forward to completing my MSN and continuing my membership with Sigma Theta Tau.
